The Exploding Hearts: (left to right) Terry Six, Adam Cox, Jeremy Gage, and Matt Fitzgerald
They're the band that could have saved punk rock. If you've never heard of The Exploding Hearts, you're seriously missing out and need to check these guys out immediately. The video below may not be the best quality, but it easily shows that this band rocked hard.

Today marks the twelve year anniversary of what could be described as the biggest tragedy in punk rock history. Back in 2003, three out of four members, Cox, Gage, and Fitzgerald, of the emerging punk band The Exploding Hearts were killed after their van overturned on the way home to Portland after playing a show. Six and the band's manager survived the crash with injuries. The band was just getting ready to embark on their first national tour. Sadly, they never got the chance to take the country by storm. The band would have undoubtedly been a sensation. Their only completed studio album Guitar Romantic proves this without question.
Many times in life, it's pointless to think about what could have happened. What if I hadn't been in a certain place at a certain time? Or what if I had never met so-and-so? You'll drive yourself crazy thinking about all the "what if's." But in reality, the Exploding Hearts are one of rock's biggest what if's. So take a minute of your time today to check out a song by the Exploding Hearts. They deserve it, and you won't be disappointed.
